Yes folks, we are in 2026 and we are so doing this, reviewing Star Trek from te very beginning. We see a different cast from the one we are used to. We have Leonard Nimoy but no Scotty, Bones, Kirk… yes, no William Shatner. So what happened? Did they join in the second season or is this a pilot that was hidden away? Will we see the regulars in episode two? I don’t know. We’ll have to see as we go along.
This captain is Christopher Pike and Spock has a normal personality. Wow! We see that this crew goes to a distress sigal where many are presumed dead. A woman is a survivor but a race of telepathic beings have taken over and they have concealed the woman’s true appearance and have started to manipulated the Enterprise’s crew but humans are too diverse and unique so they failed and released them to the ship and they high tail it away.
Not a bad story but it was boring without the usual. I actually fell asleep in the last 25 minutes and had to rewatch. But despite the differences I still managed to appreciate the brand and where it has come from.
